Social-Emotional Learning in the Catholic School
Social-Emotional Learning is important. Knowing and controlling oneself, relating to others, and making good choices are elements of the two great commandments: to love God and love our neighbor. Teaching and guiding students to live a life of virtue gives social-emotional learning its eternal context: in God who loves us and lives in us and our communities.
In the spring of 2020, we were delighted to partner with our friends, the Nashville Dominicans, for a free webinar on “Social-Emotional Learning in the Catholic School.” Colleen Richards, our Director of School Services, sat down with with Sister John Thomas, O.P., Director of Formation Programs for Aquinas College, for a conversation about the Virtues in Practice program developed by the Nashville Dominicans.
