Our Mission

Holy Rosary Academy assists parents, the primary educators, in forming students in faith, reason, and virtue through a classical education in the Roman Catholic Tradition.

About Our School

Holy Rosary Academy is a PreK-12th grade independent classical school in the Roman Catholic Tradition in Anchorage, Alaska. For over 38 years, Holy Rosary Academy has been a well-respected institution in the community. Students learn to live a vibrant Catholic life through weekly attendance at Mass, daily prayer, study, athletics, and community service. The academics in the lower school focus on building a strong foundation in math, reading, and wonder. As students matriculate into middle school, they have the space to grow emotionally with their peers as core subjects are separated into male and female classes. In high school, students learn in Socratic seminars by discussing the Great Books. Before they graduate, juniors and seniors write and defend a philosophical thesis. Teachers employ the basic tools of the Trivium, a course of study that follows the three-lane path of grammar, logic, and rhetoric. The Trivium honors the natural stages of children’s intellectual development: developing memory (grammar), sound reasoning (logic), and communication skills (rhetoric). Surrounded by well-qualified and faith-filled faculty and staff, the students are prepared to pursue their vocation and continue a lifelong love of learning.
