Holy Family Classical School
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Founded more than a century ago by St. Katharine Drexel, Holy Family Classical School is the parochial school of Holy Family Cathedral Parish, the Mother Church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma. Building upon a Montessori foundation for ages 3-5, our PK-8 classical curriculum leads students along the pathways of the seven liberal arts, trivium and quadrivium, while following a timeline of history model which integrates the histories of Western art, architecture, and music in pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Approaching all things with an attitude of awe and wonder, ours is a joyfully Catholic community. Our Catholic faculty unites in prayer daily and hands on to our students a culture of reverence, rigor, and relationship inspired by a strong supernatural vision, sound Christian anthropology, a desire for genuine communion and community, a thoroughly Catholic worldview, and authentic Gospel witness---a classical education centered on Christ.
"In our age of overwhelming secularism, a classical Catholic school seeking to recover this great lost tradition is like high ground in rising floodwaters. Breaching all levies, secularism’s pervasive fluidity has long since reached the point of saturation, exerting its influence even and especially on education, where dry land is harder and harder to find. Given the causes of the deluge and its extent, it is high time to stem the tide by returning to the classical grounds of Catholic education … maybe not for the whole world at once, but certainly for one classroom, one family at a time."
