Position Opening: Middle School Instructor

The Summit Academy is an independent Catholic classical school for students in grades 6–12. The Summit seeks a new Middle School Instructor for the 2026–2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will value the Liberal Arts and view education as the formation of young people ordered toward what is true, good, and beautiful, and ultimately toward Christ.

Faculty at The Summit serve as both teachers and mentors within a close-knit school community. Instruction may include multiple subjects, such as literature and grammar, mathematics, science, history, and theology. Background in philosophy or classical languages is preferred. Teachers are expected to model an active Catholic faith and to participate in student life through mentoring, athletics, outdoor programs, and service activities. Experience in coaching or athletics is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach four courses; serve as a mentor and role model to students
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s mission and vision, curriculum standards, and learning objectives
• Foster each student’s academic, personal, and spiritual growth through instruction advising, mentorship, and constructive feedback
• Embody partnership with families, including through Quarterly Reviews
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school life

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree reflected in compensation
• Two years of teaching experience preferred, with exceptions granted for outstanding candidates who demonstrate a record of effective leadership in a relevant field of work.
• Most essentially, the applicant must also possess a love of teaching and a passion for mentoring and a desire to continue in their own learning
