St. Joseph the Just School for Boys is seeking a full-time humanities instructor in grades 7-12 for the 2026-27 academic year. The mission of St. Joseph the Just is to forge young men of character through a rigorous program of intellectual, physical, and practical arts, challenging students to grow in virtue in order to fulfill their individual vocations to know, love, and serve God, their families, and communities. The school is located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains with easy access for educational experiences with nature.
St. Joseph the Just provides single-sex Catholic Classical Education for grades 7-12. Instructors are expected to provide both professional presentation of course content and personal witness of the Catholic faith to the young men they instruct. Full-time instructors are expected to teach five to six classes, be present for faculty meetings and parent-teacher conferences, as well as attend academic and school community events.
This year St. Joseph the Just is looking in particular for a man able to teach three sections of literature and two to three other classes which may be history, theology, Latin, or a science/math course, depending on his exposure/background. Candidates should have earned a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and would ideally already have at least a year of teaching experience.
