Saint Joseph Regional School (SJRS) and Our Lady of Mercy Academy (OLMA) are seeking an engaged Middle School/High School Spanish Teacher to join our outstanding faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will teach middle school introductory Spanish, and all levels of high school Spanish (College Prep/Honors). The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish (preferably a native Spanish speaker) and will have experience with, and a passion for, teaching in the target language at multiple levels. We seek candidates who believe in integrating cultural learning along with language learning. Candidates should possess a strong subject background and a solid understanding of Spanish curriculum. The candidate should bring energy to the classroom setting, understanding that the curriculum is focused on the development of proficiency and confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking the language.

The ideal candidate would be an actively practicing Catholic who supports the school’s mission, models Catholic values, and engages fully in the life of the school community. Sharing a vibrant campus with Saint Joseph Regional School (PK-8 founded in 1886) and Saint Bernard Church, OLMA is dedicated to educating the mind, body, and spirit of each student in the Catholic tradition.
A desire and ability to work with adolescents/teens is essential in this position. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in making a positive impact on the lives of students. Candidates must lead through example and teaching, and can see the potential in all students as they work with individuals of all ability levels. The candidate should also be willing to work collegially with administration and fellow faculty members to explore effective and creative methods of instruction, assessment, and student support. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing standards-based lessons, providing students with constructive feedback, communicating with parents, and collaborating with fellow teachers. Exceptional interpersonal, written, teamwork, and oral communication skills are necessary as well as excellent classroom management skills. Experience with Google Classroom is preferred.
Two or more years of middle school/high school teaching experience and NHDOE certification preferred, but not required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree is preferred.
