Introduction:

Due to increased enrollment, the school may add one or more class sections for the coming year, especially in grades K-4. We are thus seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-26 academic year. The ideal candidate will have training and facility with the methods of classical education and will embody our school’s mission of forming saints fully alive in the Catholic liberal arts tradition.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement a comprehensive integrated curriculum that fosters holistic development and prepares students for academic success. Curriculum is modeled on Catholic liberal arts tradition.
  • Create a nurturing and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, inquire, and collaborate.
  • Be firm, gentle, and consistent with the children following our approach to discipline.
  • Tidy and efficient with time, preparation of materials, and lesson planning.
  • Design and facilitate hands-on, experiential learning activities that cater to the unique needs and interests of each child.
  • Integrate Catholic values into daily instruction, fostering spiritual growth and moral formation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity and coherence across grade levels and subject areas.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of classical pedagogy and Catholic identity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Education, or related field
  • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I certificate preferred
  • Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. John Paul II Academy, including fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Knowledge of the principles of Catholic liberal education and the willingness to integrate them into teaching practice
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students
  • Passion for lifelong learning and professional growth
