Position Title: Part-Time 5th Grade Teacher (Classical, Catholic Hybrid)
Location: St. John Bosco Academy

Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Contract Term: August 1, 2026 – May 28, 2027

Position Overview
St. John Bosco Academy is seeking a dedicated Catholic, faithful 5th Grade Teacher to join our mission-driven community. This part-time role includes on-campus instruction two days per week, while guiding student learning across a five-day academic week with lesson plans within our hybrid model.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and guide instruction for a full five-day academic week in alignment with classical education principles
  • Utilize and adapt the school-archived, pre-developed lesson plans to support learning across five subjects: Language Arts, Math, History, Science, and Religion
  • Deliver engaging, well-ordered, and meaningful instruction on campus each Monday and Wednesday
  • Provide clear guidance and lesson plans for at-home learning days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
  • Monitor student progress, grade assignments, and provide timely, encouraging feedback
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents via email
  • Foster a classroom culture rooted in virtue, attentiveness, and joy in learning
  • Collaborate with Teacher Assistants to support student growth and classroom life

Additional Expectations

  • Attend four full-day professional development trainings (three in August and one in January)
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with administration and families via email
  • Faithfully support and uphold the mission and values of the school in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); background in education or a related field preferred
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing who is faithful to and aligned with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
  • Familiarity with or openness to learning classical education methods
  • Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills
  • A commitment to the mission of Catholic education
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining clear and consistent communication

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $18,000
  • Part-time schedule within a balanced hybrid model
  • Generous time off aligned with the liturgical and academic calendar, including:
    • Three weeks off during the Christmas season
    • One week off for Holy Week
    • One week for Spring Break
    • One week off for Thanksgiving break
