Website St. Ignatius Catholic School & Chesterton Academy Kaukauna, Wisconsin
Salve! Loquerisne linguam Latin? We are seeking a full time Latin teacher for the 2024-25 School Year!
St. Ignatius offers both Spanish and Latin in grades K-12 in the Comprehensible Input style. This instructional method results in students who are more fluent and competent in their listening and speaking abilities. At a classical school like St. Ignatius, language instruction is considered among the core and not “just a special.” Interdisciplinary connections abound between Latin, English Language Arts, and many other content areas, as our students learn constellations with Latin names, read authors like Virgil, Augustin and Julius Caesar, and attend daily Mass replete with beautiful Latin.
With Latin as much as Spanish, we use spoken Language as a method of instruction as this aligns more with our Catholic understanding of human anthropology. As beings who are both body and soul, we prefer that our students engage not just their minds as they study the rules and written language, but build the use of Latin into their muscle memory. Strong spoken Latin is preferred.
St. Ignatius Catholic School in Kaukauna, WI is a joyfully Catholic school. We are a growing PK-12 classical school with a total of 265 students striving to love Jesus. We have nearly doubled our size in just 3 years. In 2021 we opened a Chesterton Academy High School and started attending daily Mass.
We are located in the heart of the valley, with close proximity to Appleton and Green Bay.
The area has a wonderful community.
We are a 45 minute drive to the only approved Marian apparition in the United States-the Shrine of Our Lady of Champion. Mary’s message was to pray for sinners and to educate the children in the Faith.
Bishop David Ricken leads our diocese. He was instrumental in forming Wyoming Catholic-a classical college. He is focused on renewal in this diocese through developing a love of the Eucharist.
Our area is home to the St. Gianna Clinic, 25 minutes away.
We have staff that have graduated from all over the country including Franciscan University and the Catholic Studies Program at the University of St. Thomas.
Please see our website for a detailed job description.
