Prekindergarten Teacher Assistant

St. Coleman Catholic School in Pompano Beach, Florida has an opening for a full-time Prekindergarten Teacher Assistant for immediate hire. The PreK Teacher Assistant works as part of a teaching team, assists the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment, and communicates effectively with children, parents, co-workers, and administration. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Qualifications:

• Department of Children and Family (DCF) 45-hour training as well as DCF level 2 background screening.
• ELC (Early Learning Center) courses for SR (School Readiness) and VPK (Voluntary PK) completed.
• CPR First-Aid certification is preferred.
• Attend meetings and professional developments as required.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Good spelling and grammar are required.
• Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
