Montessori Primary Guide

St. Charles Catholic Classical School in Spokane, WA, is seeking a joyful, faith-filled, and intellectually inspiring Montessori Primary Guide.

Position: Montessori Primary Guide – Ages 3-6 (full-time)

The Montessori Primary Guide, grounded in the principles and pedagogy of Maria Montessori, is responsible for preparing and leading a purposeful, well-ordered Montessori environment that fosters independence, attention, and joyful discovery. The Guide delivers an authentic Catholic Montessori experience that supports and develops the intellectual and spiritual growth of children between the ages of 3 and 6.

Duties & Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong understanding of the Montessori method and the means by which it forms the child.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Montessori pedagogy and confidently implement it with fidelity
• Present and guide children through Montessori material, recognizing readiness for progression
• Observe each child with care in order to support his or her unique pathway of development
• Foster independence, joy, order, and attention within the Montessori environment
• Monitor children throughout the entire school day, including floor work and outdoor time.
• Communicate effectively with parents and school leadership.
• Collaborate with faculty to support the school’s mission and Catholic identity.

Qualifications

• AMI or AMS Primary Guide Certification (candidates currently in training with prior experience should also apply)
• Commitment to living and teaching in fidelity to the Catholic faith
• Experience working in a Montessori Primary classroom
• Physically equipped to meet the demands of a Primary classroom environment

Beginning August 24, 2026

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $27,000-$50,000 (Salary dependent on applicant’s skills and relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.)

Benefits: Medical, Dental, & Vision (annual eye exam) Insurance, Life & AD&D Insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance, Sick Leave, One Personal Day, Employee Paid Retirement Plan 403(b), & Employer Paid Retirement Plan 401(a) of 6% after one year of employment and 1,000 hours, and 21 years of age.
