Website Shanley High School Fargo, North Dakota
We seek a dedicated and mission-driven high school social studies teacher committed to the liberal arts and the intellectual tradition of the Catholic Church. The ideal candidate will foster in students a deeper understanding of history, culture, government, and human society through the careful study of historical documents, classic texts, and other primary sources.
Through close reading, thoughtful discussion, and analytical writing, the teacher will guide students to encounter the ideas, events, and individuals that have shaped civilization. The candidate should help students develop the habits of historical inquiry: evaluating evidence, understanding context, recognizing the complexity of human action, and seeking truth with intellectual humility and rigor. Particular emphasis will be placed on engaging students directly with primary sources so that they learn to think critically and responsibly about the past and its significance for the present. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of curriculum development and possess strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. We seek an educator with a passion for Catholic education who can cultivate a classroom rooted in intellectual curiosity, meaningful dialogue, and authentic human formation, helping students grow intellectually, morally, and spiritually.
Candidates must hold, or be able to obtain, a current North Dakota Educator’s Professional License.
Expected Start Date: August 2026.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled.
