Job Description: We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the teaching position of a 6th grade homeroom teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full time position which entails teaching 6th grade religion, 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts (ELA), and 6th grade history in a self-contained modified home room model.
Qualifications:
● Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree
● Must possess a valid California Teaching Credential, have an equivalent teaching credential from another state, or be working towards earning one.
● Be an effective teacher of core subjects: Religion, ELA, and History
● Class Management skills
● Demonstrated communication skills with parents, faculty and students
● Previous experience in working with middle school students in a Catholic school is ideal.
● Knowledge of Common Core and State Standards and able to implement successfully.
● Be a participating member of the Catholic Church is preferred, but not required Classroom Responsibilities: ● To foster the spiritual, academic, social and emotional growth of each student ● Be an effective teacher of core subjects: Religion, ELA and History. ● Have knowledge and proficiency in integrating technology to enhance instruction ● Maintain lesson plans for all subjects ● Maintain Learning Sites for grade ● Provide direct instructional along with other effective teaching methods ● Provide a safe environment when working with students to facilitate their learning. ● Plan and manage liturgical preparation for all-school and class masses. ● Present curriculum and materials in a manner that engages students to learn.
● Works and promotes the school’s philosophy, mission statement, code of conduct, and learning expectations. External Responsibilities: ● Plan and Manage 6th Grade Service Project ● Plan and manage 6th Grade Field Trips ● Lunch and/or recess duty as assigned by the Principal ● Assist with morning student drop-off and afternoon pick-up line as assigned ● Other duties assigned by the Principal Salary Pay: Range $59,515 – $90,298 dependent on education and years of experience ● Schedule: M – F 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
