Position: Temporary HR & Payroll Coordinator
St. Cecilia School, San Francisco, CA Employment Type: Part-Timen Reports To: Principal Schedule: Approximately 15-19 hours per week for 8 weeks

Position Summary St. Cecilia School is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Temporary HR & Payroll Coordinator to support the school’s human resources, payroll, and employee administration functions. This position will serve as an important resource for employees and school leadership, ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time while maintaining organized and confidential personnel records. The ideal candidate will have experience with Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS system and be comfortable managing payroll processes, employee data, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance documentation, and routine HR inquiries.

Key Responsibilities Payroll & Paylocity Administration ●Administer the school’s payroll process through Paylocity, including collecting,reviewing, and entering payroll information.●Maintain accurate employee records, pay rates, job information, tax withholding,deductions, and direct-deposit information within Paylocity.●Review employee time records, timesheets, leave, stipends, supplemental pay, and other payrolladjustments for accuracy.●Process payroll changes and verify payroll reports prior to submission.●Coordinate payroll processing according to established deadlines and school payrollschedules.●Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee questions regardingpaychecks, deductions, taxes, and payroll records.●Maintain and reconcile payroll-related reports and documentation.●Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution and otherrequired payroll reporting.●Coordinate with payroll, benefits, accounting, and other external vendors as needed.

 

Human Resources Administration ●Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records.
●Support the onboarding process for new faculty and staff, including employment documentation,required forms, background-check coordination, and Paylocity setup.●Process employee changes such as new hires, terminations, status changes, compensation changes,and leave information.●Assist with employee offboarding and ensure appropriate payroll and benefits updates are completed.•Support administration of employee benefits and serve as a point of contact for routineemployee questions.●Maintain required employment documentation and assist with HR compliance activities. ● Trackemployee certifications, required training, licenses, and other school-specific employmentrequirements.●Assist with preparation of HR reports and workforce information for schooladministration.Employee Support & School Administration ●Serve as a professional and responsive resource for faculty and staff regarding payroll and routine HR questions.●Communicate payroll and HR information clearly and confidentially.●Work collaboratively with the Business Office, school administration, and other staff members.•Assist with maintaining HR policies, procedures, forms, and employee communications.●Protect the confidentiality of sensitive employee, payroll, tax, and personnel information. ●Perform other HR and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications ●Previo requirements, payroll deductions, and employee records.●Strong attention to detail and aus experience in human resources, payroll, accounting, or office administration.Hands-on experience with Paylocity strongly preferred.●Understanding of payroll processes, wage and hourccuracy.●Excellent organizational and time-management skills.●Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.●Strong written and verbal communication skills.●Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar businessapplications.●Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school leadership and staff.●Experience working in a school, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization is a plus.●Commitment to and respect for the mission and values of Catholic education.●Experience working in a Catholic school, parish, diocese, or other Catholic organization ispreferred.

Preferred Experience ●Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred●Paylocity HRIS and payroll administration.●California payroll and employment practices.●Benefits administration.●HR onboarding and offboarding.●Experience supporting payroll for hourly and salaried employees.●Experience working in a Catholic school or educational environment.●Familiarity with the mission, values, and culture of Catholic education.Work Schedule
This is a part-time position of approximately 15–19 hours per week for 8 weeks. Compensation
Hourly Rate: $35-$38 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Physical & Work Environment
