PK-8th Grade Music Teacher – 2026-2027 School Year
Location: St. Brendan School, North Olmsted, Ohio
Position Type: Part-Time, Two Days/Week
Are you called to teach students in a faith-filled, positive environment and community? St. Brendan School is seeking a PK-8th Grade Music Teacher to join our dynamic school team.
About Us: Nestled within a quiet and safe neighborhood in North Olmsted since 1964, St. Brendan School is committed to providing a Christ-centered environment to serve our Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade students’ spiritual, academic, and social needs as we navigate our faith journey together. We are fully accredited through the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA) and the first Diocesan/Parochial school in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland to teach a Classical Catholic Education along with the Ohio Learning Standards. We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Prioritizes safe oversight of students in all classroom and school settings;
- Practices effective classroom management with excellent organization and structure;
- Possesses a strong command of music instruction at the elementary level and a knowledge of elementary music pedagogy;
- Effectively demonstrates proper vocal technique and singing habits; utilizes basic piano skills as a supporting instrument; integrates classroom instruments including recorder, bucket drums, boomwhackers, bells, and various percussion instruments;
- Maintains and organizes classroom instruments, materials, and music resources;
- Plans, coordinates, practices, and directs student performances twice per year in the Advent Into Christmas Program and Spring Concert;
- Incorporates a variety of classroom and music technology to deliver engaging music lessons and promote creative student learning;
- Submits music lesson plans and grades accurately and punctually;
- Communicates regularly with partners and parents and colleagues;
- Collaborates with co-workers and administration and is receptive to coaching and feedback;
- Demonstrates the ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Utilizes the school software/management platforms;
- Enthusiastically practices the teaching ministry/vocation in a positive, team-oriented community;
- Embraces and is open to learning and implementing Classical Catholic pedagogies, theories, themes, and curriculum (in-house training, collaboration, feedback, and Professional Development will be provided for this) and in doing so, fosters a classroom environment that supports student virtue, attentiveness, and a love for beauty in music;
- Lives the virtues and morals compatible with and supportive of the teachings and mission of St. Brendan School, the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, and the Roman Catholic Church;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education/Music and elementary teaching experience
- Current Teaching license/certificate strongly preferred
- Experience running student concerts strongly preferred
- Pass a background check

Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation range is $15,560 to depending-on-experience
- PD support, ongoing opportunities for continuing education
The candidate offered a contract must:
- Submit three current letters of recommendation
Obtain certifications that all full-time employees at schools in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland are required to have: VIRTUS certification; Religious certification through Diocesan online courses (approximately four classes, four hours each, spread over two years);
