Job Overview
St. Agatha Academy, a PreK-8 elementary school in Winchester, Kentucky, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time PreK-8th Grade Music Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Duties

Design and implement comprehensive music curricula tailored to PreK-8th grade students, incorporating various musical styles and activities.
Deliver engaging lessons that promote active participation, including singing, instrument playing, and movement activities such as dancing and theater arts.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
Incorporate interdisciplinary approaches, integrating elements like photography, ballet, cooking, sewing, or culinary arts to enrich the music program.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school events related to the arts.
Utilize classroom management techniques suitable for early childhood education and special education needs when applicable.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, behavior management, and innovative teaching strategies.
Ability to teach general music and music appreciation to students in grades PreK-8th grade, as well as teach band to beginning and intermediate band students in grades 4-8.
Qualifications

Prior experience working with children in educational settings, including preschool through middle school levels.
Strong background in music education, including lesson planning and curriculum development.
Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for diverse age groups and special education needs.
Experience with teaching or tutoring in areas such as theater arts, ballet, dancing, photography, sewing, or culinary arts is a plus.
Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports behavioral management and positive reinforcement strategies.
Passion for fostering creativity and artistic expression among students of all backgrounds.
Relevant certifications or degrees in music education or early childhood education are preferred but not mandatory. This role is ideal for educators committed to nurturing young learners’ musical talents while supporting their overall growth through innovative teaching methods and artistic exploration.
