Regina Luminis Academy, a classical school in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, seeks a faithful, strategic, and mission-driven Director of Development to lead and grow the school’s advancement efforts. The ideal candidate will understand fundraising not merely as a financial necessity, but as an opportunity to invite benefactors into the noble work of forming young men and women in wisdom, virtue, and truth.

Job Summary

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the Academy’s fundraising and advancement program. This includes major gifts cultivation, annual giving, capital campaigns, donor stewardship, and strategic growth initiatives. The Director works closely with the Head of School and Board to secure philanthropic support that ensures the long-term strength and sustainability of Regina Luminis Academy’s classical Catholic mission.

Specific Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy aligned with the school’s mission and growth goals.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospective benefactors.
Lead and manage annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and special fundraising initiatives.
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including foundations and grants where appropriate.
Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, parish communities, and supporters.
Oversee donor communications, stewardship efforts, and acknowledgment processes.
Maintain accurate records of gifts, pledges, and donor engagement activities.
Collaborate with admissions, communications, and school leadership to align messaging and institutional goals.
Provide regular reports to the Head of School and Board regarding fundraising progress and strategy.
Represent Regina Luminis Academy professionally at events and in meetings with benefactors.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive proposal writing.
Strategic thinking and long-term planning ability.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Professional discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.
Appreciation for classical education and the Catholic liberal arts tradition.
Commitment to the teachings and moral vision of the Catholic Church.
Ability to articulate the mission of Regina Luminis Academy compellingly to diverse audiences.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Significant experience in development, fundraising, advancement, or nonprofit leadership required.
Experience in Catholic, classical, or independent school settings strongly preferred.
Proven track record of successful fundraising initiatives and donor cultivation.
