Job Summary
The Social Media and Communications Officer is responsible for overseeing the Academy’s internal and external communications, including social media platforms, website content, print publications, and promotional materials. This role requires a strategic thinker and skilled communicator who can articulate the mission of Regina Luminis Academy with clarity, creativity, and fidelity to the Catholic faith. The position works closely with school leadership to strengthen enrollment, community engagement, and institutional visibility.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the school’s mission and enrollment goals.
Manage and regularly update the Academy’s social media accounts with mission-driven, engaging, and professional content.
Create written content for newsletters, press releases, website updates, emails, and promotional materials.
Oversee branding consistency across all platforms and publications.
Capture and curate photography and video content that highlights academic life, athletics, events, and student formation.
Coordinate communications related to admissions events, fundraising initiatives, and school programs.
Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Collaborate with administration, faculty, and development staff to promote school initiatives effectively.
Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to evaluate and refine communication efforts.
Uphold professional standards and confidentiality in all communications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong editing ability.
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
Experience with basic graphic design tools and content management systems.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to communicate the value of classical education and Catholic formation clearly and attractively.
Commitment to the teachings and moral vision of the Catholic Church.
Professional discretion and sound judgment.
Creative vision balanced with attention to detail and brand consistency.
Ability to work collaboratively while managing independent projects.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field required.
Prior experience in communications, marketing, or social media management required.
Experience in Catholic, classical, or independent school settings is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with enrollment marketing strategies and donor communications is desirable.
