Regina Luminis Academy, a classical school in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, seeks a joyful and faithful Elementary School Teacher to join our faculty. Job Summary

The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for instructing students in core academic subjects while cultivating habits of attention, discipline, charity, and love of learning. Rooted in the classical Catholic tradition, this role emphasizes foundational literacy and numeracy, memorization, narration, and the joyful pursuit of truth. The teacher will guide students during their formative years with clarity, patience, and strong classroom leadership.

Specific Responsibilities

Teach core elementary subjects (including reading, writing, mathematics, history, science, and catechesis as applicable) in alignment with the school’s classical curriculum.
Foster foundational skills in phonics, grammar, handwriting, arithmetic, and memorization.
Create a classroom environment marked by order, beauty, respect, and joyful discipline.
Integrate moral and spiritual formation into daily instruction in age-appropriate ways.
Maintain consistent routines that cultivate responsibility and attentiveness.
Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback to parents.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student development.
Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and administration.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Serve as a model of Christian virtue, patience, and intellectual enthusiasm.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of elementary-level content and child development.
Ability to teach foundational literacy and mathematics effectively.
Skill in classroom management rooted in consistency, clarity, and charity.
Appreciation for classical education and its emphasis on memory, virtue formation, and wonder.
Commitment to the teachings and moral vision of the Catholic Church.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and pursue professional growth.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
Teaching certification preferred but not required for well-qualified candidates.
Prior experience teaching elementary students is desirable.
Familiarity with or openness to classical education and Catholic pedagogy is strongly preferred.
