Grade 6 Humanities Teacher, part-time

Part-time teaching position for 6th grade Humanities, focused on the Ancient World. Teaching load is one section of 2-block of classes per day, 5 days per week, in addition to 1 period of supervision. Must be available for professional development days and faculty meetings. Potential for additional hours and stipends for administrative work or after-school clubs.

Northside Catholic Academy is  a regional archdiocese school serving 4 parishes on the far northeast side of Chicago. Strong academics and culturally diverse Title 1 school — with families from around the world –that is in transition toward a more classical curriculum and pedagogy. School boasts a House system and Virtue-based restorative discipline.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
● Minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree, preference for English, history, or Classics background
● Valid educator license preferred
● Experience and passion for teaching middle school students
● Desire to embrace the Catholic ethos of the school
● Knowledge of differentiated instruction and working with students with diverse learning needs
● Strong classroom management skills

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Sense of humor and willingness to be flexible and supportive of the overall school program

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Salary commensurate with the Archdiocese of Chicago Elementary Salary Scale with additional stipends based on experience.
