Online Instructors Grades PK-5:

·        Long-Term, Short-Term Subs & Tutors

Online instructors teach live online courses using Kolbe Academy’s curriculum. Responsibilities include conducting live classes, developing lessons and other materials, grading student work, and regularly communicating with students and parents. Kolbe will provide course plans, books, software, and other resources, as well as ongoing support and training, to help instructors succeed in their roles. Online instructors for grades 6-12 generally work in one department (e.g., math, history) and may teach one or more courses.

Responsibilities:

·       Conduct live classes as scheduled in Adobe Connect

·       Manage and maintain assigned courses in Schoology (our learning management system)

·        Design and develop lessons, assignments, and assessments using the Kolbe curriculum

·       Create & post a weekly assignment schedule each Friday

·       Communicate with parents and students through email and Schoology (M-F except on holidays)

·       Provide timely feedback and grading on all assignments and assessments

·       Hold office hours during exam weeks and by request of students

·       Complete annual initial and ongoing training as assigned

·       Attend all in-service, department, and grade level meetings as scheduled

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate:

Experience teaching specific subjects in the classroom and/or online
Passion for technology and familiarity with online learning
Ability to create engaging synchronous lessons
Engaging personality
Organized and Professional
Catholic and Virtuous
BONUS: Understanding of Classical/Ignatian Methodology

Required Qualifications:

Classroom teaching experience and/or tutoring homeschool students.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
Master’s degree in field or teacher certification (any state). Preferred
Previous experience teaching in an online environment. Preferred

Job Requirements:

Complete Kolbe Academy teacher training course.
Dedicated workspace appropriate for conducting live online classes in a professional manner.
