Starting Salary Range: $73,866 – $116,037

Desired background:

●       Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree in Counseling and a PPS certification preferred)

●       3-5 years minimum experience working in college admissions or high school college counseling

●       3+ years experience in a Counselor role at the high school level

●       Such alternative qualifications may be deemed appropriate

 

Responsibilities include:

●       Provide comprehensive, individualized personal and college counseling to juniors and seniors and their families to support their academic and social-personal challenges and their educational journey and overall well-being

●       Communicate and collaborate with teachers, administrators and parents regarding student progress and concerns

●       Collaborate with other counselors, Director of the Academic Resource Center, and the wellness counselor to address student needs and overall counseling concerns

●       Provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies and therapists when needed

●       Write thoughtful, detailed, and compelling letters of recommendations and coordinate and submit student profiles for college applications

●       Collaboratively plan department events, including college representative visits, speaker series, mock interviews, test preparation programs, and financial planning events

●       Steward relationships with domestic and international colleges and universities

●       Stay current on college admission trends through professional development, campus visits, and active participation in regional & national organizations (ex: NACAC, WACAC, ASCA)

●       Participate fully in the Serra community by attending meetings, serving on committees, and contributing to school-wide initiatives.
