Long-Term Substitute – Junior High English Language Arts Teacher
Dates: Monday, November 16, 2026 – June 10, 2026 (End of the School Year)

Position: Junior High English Language Arts Teacher / 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher
The teacher will serve as a 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher and teach English Language Arts (Literature and Vocabulary) to two sections each of Grades 6, 7, and 8. The teacher will report directly to the Principal and Vice-Principal.

● Provide timely and meaningful feedback to support student learning and growth
● Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, rigor, and continuous professional growth
● Attend all required professional development, faculty meetings, and in-services
● Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parish community members
● Support school activities, events, and extracurricular programs as needed
● Uphold professionalism, punctuality, preparedness, and confidentiality
● Review and uphold the policies outlined in the School Employee Handbook
Qualifications
● Reflect and model the Catholic values taught at Holy Name School
● Candidates must possess an undergraduate four year college degree
● Preferred: California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English or English Language Arts (or a reciprocal state teaching credential) OR California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (or a reciprocal state teaching credential) preferred
● Junior High teaching experience preferred
● Knowledge of Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts
● Strong classroom management skills
● Teaching experience and a passion for working with middle school students
● Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with parents, faculty, administration, and students
● Ability to utilize and integrate technology effectively in the classroom
● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a Junior High teaching team
● Commitment to academic excellence, rigor, student growth, and Catholic education

Salary: Compensation depends on experience and is commensurate with the Archdiocese of San Francisco Elementary Annual Salary Scale: $59,515 to $132,983 (prorated, based on experience and credentials)
