Holy Family Academy, a growing classical Catholic school committed to educating students to the highest standards of the classical tradition, is seeking a Head of the Upper School to lead our 7th–12th grade division. As we expand onto our new 26‑acre campus, we are looking for a mission‑driven leader who can cultivate a strong Catholic culture, uphold classical academic standards, and mentor faculty with clarity, charity, and conviction.

About the Role:

The Head of the Upper School serves as the chief academic and cultural leader for the Upper School. This role oversees faculty, curriculum implementation, student formation, and the daily life of the Upper School community. The ideal candidate is a joyful Catholic, deeply formed in the classical tradition, who can inspire both students and teachers toward excellence.

Requirements:

The Head of the Upper School must have a solid understanding of classical education, the Catholic faith and traditions of the Church, the classical curriculum implemented at Holy Family Academy, classical pedagogy, in methods supported by the Classical Latin School Association,  and its implementation in the upper school, and fully understand and support the goal and mission of Holy Family Academy.

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a deep love for the Church and her teachings.
  • Strong understanding of classical education and the liberal arts tradition.
  • Prior teaching or school leadership experience required; administrative experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead with humility, firmness, and joy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the Upper School, ensuring a culture rooted in the Catholic faith and classical virtue.
  • Support and supervise faculty through coaching, classroom observations, and ongoing professional formation.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation in alignment with the school’s classical model and Catholic identity.
  • Partner with the Executive Director on strategic planning, parent communication, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Uphold standards of discipline, order, and pastoral care for Upper School students.
  • Collaborate with staff on scheduling, events, and academic programming.
  • Represent the mission and vision of Holy Family Academy with clarity and professionalism.
  • Teach up to three Upper School classes as needed.
