Dean of Students & Theology Instructor
Holy Family Academy, a growing classical Catholic school dedicated to forming students in faith, virtue, and academic excellence, is seeking a Dean of Students who will also serve as a Theology Instructor in our Upper School. This role is ideal for a joyful, mission-driven Catholic leader who can cultivate a culture of order, charity, and discipleship while teaching the truths of the Faith with clarity and conviction.
About the Role:
The Dean of Students is responsible for the daily life, discipline, and formation of students, ensuring that the culture of the school reflects the Gospel, the classical tradition, and the virtues at the heart of Catholic education. In addition, the Dean will teach Theology courses appropriate to his or her expertise and the needs of the Upper School.
This position requires a leader who can balance pastoral care with firm expectations, communicate clearly with students and parents, and model the joy and integrity of a life rooted in Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of virtue, respect, and responsibility throughout the school day.
- Oversee student discipline, attendance, and daily conduct with consistency, fairness, and charity.
- Build strong relationships with students and families, supporting them in the formation of habits that lead to holiness and maturity.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Head of the Upper School, and faculty to ensure a unified and mission-aligned school culture.
- Teach Theology courses in the Upper School, grounded in Scripture, the Catechism, and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
- Support faculty in classroom management and student formation.
- Assist with school events, liturgical life, and community-building initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning and the ongoing development of the school’s classical Catholic identity.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with a deep love for the Church and her teachings.
- Strong understanding of classical education and Catholic formation.
- Experience in student life, youth ministry, teaching, or school leadership preferred.
- Ability to lead with clarity, humility, firmness, and joy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; background in Theology, Philosophy, Education, or related fields preferred.
