Position Overview
Holy Cross High School seeks a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and mission-driven Latin teacher to join its founding faculty.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a growing classical Catholic high school from the ground up.

The ideal candidate brings a deep love of the Latin language and the Western intellectual tradition, paired with the ability to ignite wonder, discipline, and intellectual curiosity in students. Through the study of Latin, this teacher will help form young men and women in clarity of thought, beauty of expression, and strength of character.

Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging lessons in Latin grammar, vocabulary, translation, and reading comprehension
Foster a classroom culture rooted in academic excellence, virtue, and joyful rigor
Administer and prepare students for the National Latin Exam
Assess student growth through a variety of methods, including written and oral translation
Integrate classical texts, prayers, and connections to the Catholic liberal arts tradition
Collaborate with faculty to ensure curriculum alignment and program development
Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress and growth
Contribute to the life of the school through events, activities, and extracurricular leadership
Uphold and model the mission and values of Holy Cross High School

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required)
Strong command of Latin grammar and literature
Commitment to the mission of Catholic classical education

Preferred Qualities
Experience in classical education or a Catholic liberal arts curriculum
Interest in building a vibrant Latin program (Latin Club, Certamen, cultural programming)
Ability or interest in teaching Philosophy
A teacher who sees Latin not simply as a subject—but as a formative discipline of the mind and soul
