About Holy Angels Academy:

Holy Angels is a private, independent co-ed Catholic school serving students from 3-year-old pre-kindergarten through Grade Twelve. Math Teacher Purpose:

The Math Teacher, under the general supervision of the Headmaster, implements the curriculum, teaches Math, and nurtures a joy and love of Math across grades 7 through 12. The Math teacher will be responsible for 7th and 8th grade math, high school geometry, algebra I, algebra II, and business math at the Academy.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining the Math program’s needs, goals, and objectives and development of the Math classes syllabi. Work collaboratively with administration to continuously develop and revise program needs.
  • Teach Math to grades 7 through 12, ensuring that the students acquire the skills and knowledge to excel in the subject matter while developing a love for and enjoyment of Math.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress to ensure that their potential is being recognized and developed and that issues are being identified and addressed.
  • Keep staff and parents informed of the progress of each student through the Academy’s assessment and reporting systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested including attending professional development and meetings.

Qualifications: 

  • Passionately Catholic and in full communion with the Magisterium of the Church and the mission of Holy Angels Academy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education, or a related area. If one does not have a specialized degree in Math or a related field, one must demonstrate a mastery of the subject matter and the ability to teach.
  • Experience teaching is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use discretion, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both in verbal and written form, with students, fellow faculty/staff, and parents.
