Green Bay Area Catholic Education Inc,- GRACE is looking for an Assistant Headmaster at St. John Paul II Classical School in Green Bay, WI for the 2026-27 school year.
He /She will provide support to the Headmaster by assuming aspects of building leadership in his absence, supports the development and implementation of classical pedagogy, and nurtures the character and virtue development of each child. The Assistant Headmaster provides targeted leadership support to actualize the philosophy of trivium into action, and provides individualized support to help children grow in virtue.

Essential Functions:

A. Classical Pedagogy
a. Hold faculty accountable for acquiring knowledge of and remaining committed to the prescribed curriculum and sequence, classical pedagogy, instructional practices, and developmentally appropriate methodology
b. Ensure the philosophy of the trivium is actualized in the day-to-day of the classroom
c. Supervise the administration of standardized testing, evaluate trends in scores, and utilize data appropriately
d. Work collaboratively with the Headmaster to develop, share, and implement faculty observation, paying particular instruction to the way classical methodologies are expressed through instructions. This task is shared with the Headmaster.
e. Ensure employees remain committed to the core mission of SJPII
f. Supervise aides and lunchroom supervisor
g. Write regular parent updates regarding academics, classical instruction, and student achievement for the Angelus and school communication channels
h. Helps as Athletic Director
i. Oversees implementation of “Education in Virtue” across all grade levels

B. Student Virtue Development
a. Conduct daily walk-throughs in an effort to identify positive and virtuous efforts and to understand and proactively manage issues and concerns before they escalate
b. Clearly communicate student behavioral expectations with staff, students, parents/guardians, and ensure policies are upheld
c. Utilize, modify as needed, and implement student behavioral protocols that support the Education in Virtue program
d. Prudently and actively assist to mitigate student conflict within the school community in a way that aligns with virtue instruction
e. Oversee, clarify, and reinforce intervention needs as identified by faculty, scheduling needs of any interventionists, etc., and collaborate with the Director of Student Services
f. Maintain parent communication regarding revisions to the Family Handbook
g. Develop and communicate guidelines regarding student eligibility risks/issues, particularly with regards to athletics
h. Assist lead teachers in organizing school events

C. Headmaster Support
a. Assume the day-to-day duties of the Headmaster in his/her absence.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
The Assistant Headmaster must be a practicing Catholic with a master’s degree. It is recommended that the Academic Dean have a be certified by the State of Wisconsin, be certified within three years of the date of hire or hold a Catholic Liberal Arts or Classical degree. The Assistant Headmaster must have a thorough understanding of a Classical education. regular, punctual and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 40 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
