Christ the King Catholic Parish School is seeking a mission-passionate Catholic school teacher who is eager to help form young people in the riches of the Church’s classical liberal educational tradition.
As a ministry of Christ the King Catholic Church, our school exists to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to participate in the Church’s mission by providing Mission Passionate Catholic Education. We develop disciples in Christ who are grounded in faith, forged in wisdom and prepared to transform the future. Christ the King is seeking a teacher who sees education as more than instruction alone: a vocation to help students encounter Christ, grow in character, pursue truth, and discover the mission for which they were created.
The ideal candidate is a joyful and faithful Catholic educator who loves working with children, values meaningful intellectual formation of students, and desires to contribute to a school culture rooted in prayer, reverence, beauty, charity, and fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church. This teacher should be committed to partnering with parents, who are the primary educators of their children, and helping students grow spiritually, intellectually, morally, and humanly.
We are especially interested in candidates who demonstrate alignment with, or genuine openness to, the Catholic liberal tradition of education: an approach to teaching and learning that values wonder, wisdom, the unity of faith and reason, the formation of the whole person, and a love for what is true, good, and beautiful. Our hope is to find a teacher who can help students not only achieve academically, but also grow in their capacity to contemplate, to judge rightly, and to live virtuously in response to God’s call.
What We’re Looking For
Qualified candidates will typically demonstrate:
- A commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a desire to serve as a witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- For Catholic applicants, active practice of the Catholic faith and a life consistent with the teachings of the Church.
- The ability to foster a classroom culture marked by joy, order, reverence, strong relationships, and high expectations.
- A willingness to integrate Catholic identity thoughtfully across school life and instruction.
Appreciation for the Catholic intellectual and liberal arts tradition, including the cultivation of wonder, virtue, sound judgment, and a love of learning. - A collaborative spirit, professional maturity, and strong communication skills.
Appropriate education, credentials, and/or teaching competence for the grade level or subject area assigned. - Ability to satisfy Archdiocesan minimum qualifications, background check, and safe environment requirements.
What the Role Includes
The teacher will:
- Deliver strong, mission-aligned classroom instruction.
- Help create an authentically Catholic environment in which students are formed in faith, virtue, and knowledge.
- Support the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and human formation of students.
- Work in partnership with school leadership, colleagues, and families.
- Participate in the prayer, liturgical, and communal life of the school.
- Contribute to a culture that reflects Catholic identity, academic seriousness, and care for the whole child.
