CHESTERTON ACADEMY OF NOTRE DAME, an independent, classical Catholic high school in Spokane, WA is seeking dynamic teachers with a background in Chemistry/Math for a full or part-time position. Candidates ideally have previous teaching experience, demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and profess fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field by the time of employment.
This position will be full or part-time, beginning August 26, 2024.
The candidate should possess teaching ability, content excellence, classroom management, and the capacity to take on extra-curricular duties, clubs, mentorship in the Houses System (the House system is designed to promote character and virtue and to help students grow in holiness), and other duties as assigned. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and participate in spiritual retreats or other school activities. Strong emphasis will be placed upon collegiality amongst peers, building a school community, and partnering with parents.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary $40,000 – $55,000 for full-time; part time employees will receive this at a pro-rated rate depending on hours. Offered salary is based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and relevant experience, degrees and certifications.
-Full-time positions receive a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance, retirement plans, and sick leave. Teachers with students attending the school receive up to 90% tuition discount.
-Part-time positions receive sick leave and a 403(b) voluntary retirement plan.
