Chelsea Academy is a joyful, faith-centered, independent Catholic liberal arts school dedicated to

Position Overview:
Chelsea Academy invites applications for a full-time Upper School teaching position combining
History and Mathematics for the 2026–2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach a
range of courses in both disciplines and contribute to the vibrant intellectual and spiritual life of the
school.

Teaching Responsibilities
History Courses:
o 6th Grade Ancient Christian and Medieval History
o 7th Grade Modern European History
o 8th Grade American History
o 11th Grade Early Modern and Modern European History
Mathematics Courses:
o Geometry
o Precalculus

Qualifications
• A practicing Catholic in good standing with a deep commitment to the mission and identity
of Chelsea Academy.
• Bachelor’s degree in History, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Strong background in both humanities and mathematics, with the ability to integrate
disciplines within a liberal arts framework.
• Commitment to the vision, mission, and Catholic identity of Chelsea Academy
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Enthusiasm for mentoring students and participating in the broader life of the school.
• A love of teaching and learning rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.
• Ability to inspire students to think critically, reason logically, and appreciate the unity of
truth across disciplines.
• Willingness to engage in the spiritual, cultural, and extracurricular life of the Academy,
including retreats, service projects, and community events.
• Ability to be flexible in a smaller-school environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work as a team player with teachers and staff.
• Ability to plan strategically and maintain a focus on results.
• Ability to partner and create relationships with parents and community members.
• Ability to enforce policies with charity and empathy.
• Willingness to engage with students and work with them during activities and events.
• Enthusiasm for working with young learners and fostering a love of learning.
• Dedication to fostering virtue, curiosity, and moral responsibility in students.

About the Curriculum and Culture:
Chelsea Academy’s curriculum is designed to cultivate wisdom and virtue through a rigorous and
integrated liberal arts education. History courses emphasize the study of human civilization, the
development of Western culture, and the moral lessons drawn from the past. Mathematics courses
train the intellect in logical reasoning, precision, and the beauty of order in creation.
Faculty members are expected to model the school’s core virtues of faith, hope, charity, prudence,
justice, fortitude, and temperance and to guide students toward intellectual excellence and moral
maturity. The Academy fosters a joyful and disciplined environment where faith and reason work
