Principal, PK-8

Cathedral of the Risen Christ is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the position of Principal for grades PK-8. The Principal is the director of instruction and chief academic officer of the school. The Principal reports directly to the Pastor and has primary responsibility for daily operation of academic and student life functions, with particular emphasis on leadership and vision in curriculum and instruction, and teacher improvement of instruction. In coordination with other members of the school team, the Principal participates fully in the life of the parish and school, engaging faculty, staff, students, and parents in ways that reflect Cathedral School’s commitment to education, service, and the Catholic faith. With an awareness of current educational trends and forecasts, the Principal is expected to maintain and lead the continual evolution of a relevant and cutting-edge curriculum that incorporates the school’s mission.

Credentials and Experience:

• Administrative Certification with the State of Nebraska (PK-8) is required
• Prior Educational Leadership Experience (at least 3-5 years preferred)
• Must be able to fulfill and execute all of the requirements as stated in the Diocesan Administrators Manual
• The incumbent shall be a spiritually-motivated, practicing Roman Catholic with excellent communication skills, a future-oriented academic vision, knowledge of current educational methods, an understanding of a multicultural environment, and proven leadership skills
• The incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license in order to attend meetings and conferences as appropriate
