Full-Time Art Teacher
Aquinas Academy is seeking a passionate and creative full-time Art Teacher to join our faculty. The teaching assignment includes art instruction primarily for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
The ideal candidate has a deep appreciation for art, especially sacred art and the rich artistic tradition of the Catholic Church, as well as a genuine desire to cultivate in students a lifelong love of beauty, creativity, and artistic expression. We seek an educator who views art not merely as a skill to be taught, but as a means of helping students encounter God. This individual will:
- Inspire creativity through a wide variety of artistic media and techniques.
- Integrate sacred art, art history, and the Catholic intellectual tradition into classroom instruction.
- Showcase student work through school exhibitions and special projects.
- Exhibit excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
We value collaborative faculty members who not only value art as an essential part of a classical Catholic education but are eager to contribute to the broader life of the school. Opportunities may include coaching athletics, assisting with theater productions (particularly set design), moderating student activities, or teaching additional subject areas consistent with the candidate’s interests and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certification and/or an advanced degree preferred.
- All required Pennsylvania educational clearances must be obtained prior to employment.
- Practicing Catholics preferred.
During the interview process, we request candidates provide a portfolio of personal artwork and/or examples of student artwork (with appropriate permissions), or a link to an online portfolio, if available.
