2018 National Catholic Classical Schools Conference
July 23-26
Catholic University of America – Washington, D.C.

“Educating from the Heart of the Church”  was the theme of our sixth annual conference, which brought educators from around the country to deepen their understanding of the nature and the purpose of Catholic education and its roots in the classical liberal arts tradition. The conference provided inspiration, advice, seminars, discussion, prayer, and social time to expand our community of lifelong learners. The conference featured talks by President John Garvey of The Catholic University of America, Msgr. Charles Pope, Pastor of Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Church in Washington, D.C., Dr. Jake Noland, Dean of Faculty at St. Thomas More Academy in Raleigh, NC, Dr. Christopher Perrin, Founder of Classical Academic Press, Michael Ortner, technology entrepreneur and philanthropist, and the Institute’s own Chris Weir.

“The entire conference was spiritually uplifting and beautiful. I loved how everyone’s focal point was Christ and that Mary, Our Mother, the greatest of educators after her Son, was shown as so important to us as educators. It was so beautiful!”

“This conference further strengthens my vocation because I now know I’m part of a renewal that works and we can bring our culture back.  I’m beyond confident that my report to colleagues will quell their fears and inspire them.”

“It was nice to see all the schools from across the country.”

“Experiencing Mass at the Crypt Church daily was one of the most defining moments for me as a Catholic educator. Including Mass everyday was very important to me – it makes me want to be more devoted to my students.”

“I found the joy and excitement of the movement that exists at these conferences most helpful. Each conference that I attend serves to inspire and reinvigorate me as a person (child of God) and as a teacher (servant of God).”

“As an educator, I have so many ideas to take back to the faculty and administration. Praise God that His will is being fulfilled through the Institute. I appreciate the invaluable information, support, and fellowship that it offers.”

“My experience reminded me of how important the vocation of teaching is to our youth.”

“I feel very excited about being a part of the classical movement from the ground floor, especially at the high school STEM level. I feel very uplifted and encouraged to work even harder in my classroom!”

“I have come multiple years and it always gives me a jolt of enthusiasm along with practical skills to bring back to my school.”
