Immaculata Classical Academy is seeking a highly motivated individual with fundraising or sales experience to join our team as the Director of Major Gifts, in either a full-time or part-time capacity.
Founded in 2010, Immaculata Classical Academy is an independent Catholic school providing a rigorous liberal arts education to approximately 225 children in the Louisville area from pre-school through high school.
The Director of Major Gifts reports to the principal and will play a crucial role as a member of the school’s development team, primarily focused on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors across the major gifts pipeline, as well as fostering a culture of philanthropy.
Responsibilities include:
Major & Planned Gifts: responsible for securing major, planned, and capital gifts.
Development Team Member: work collaboratively with the principal, board, and development team to develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan
Planned Giving: oversee the development, planning, design, and implementation of planned giving programs
Donor Portfolio Management: identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and current donors for principal and major gifts, as well as maintaining communication keeping them informed of the impact of their contributions and coordinating on-campus visits
Events: assist with fundraising events regarding strategy/messaging, securing sponsors and matching funds.
Brand Awareness: represent Immaculata at events/functions. Work closely with the marketing team ensuring consistent and impactful messaging to our donors
Qualifications:
- Faithful Catholic in full communion with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and the mission of Immaculata Classical Academy
- Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of work experience in non-profit fundraising or closely related area
- Ability to develop and cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, donors, and prospective donors
- Accustomed to goal setting and achievement
- Proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts at the 5 and 6 figure range
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule at times to accommodate the demands of the position, including weekend and evening hours. Local travel expected.
- Excellent speaking and writing abilities
- Experience with CRM donation management systems is a plus
