Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and talented Music Director to join our team and lead the advancement of our Music department. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the Catholic faith, a deep understanding of sacred music, and the ability to inspire and guide student choirs.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee the music program at Atonement Catholic Academy, ensuring alignment with the Catholic liturgy and the spiritual development of our students.
Lead and conduct student choirs during daily Mass and special religious events, fostering an atmosphere of worship and musical excellence.
Collaborate with teachers and clergy to integrate music into the overall curriculum and liturgical celebrations such as Mass, Feast Days, and Holy Days while paying special attention to the liturgical calendar.
Plan and coordinate musical performances, concerts, and events throughout the academic year, showcasing the talents of our students.
Provide music education that goes beyond performance, instilling a love and appreciation for sacred music in our students.
Manage and maintain musical instruments, equipment, and resources within the department.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in music education directing choirs, especially in a sacred music context.
Strong knowledge and appreciation of Catholic liturgy and sacred music traditions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, and clergy.
An active and devout member of the Catholic faith, dedicated to upholding the school’s conservative and traditional values.
