JOB TITLE:  Pre-Primary, Primary, and Lower School Teacher-Mentors

REPORTS TO:  Headmaster

SUPERVISES: Students & Family Communications

St. Thomas Aquinas Classical Academy is seeking teacher-mentors for Pre-Primary (K), Primary (grades 1-4) and Lower School (grades 5-6) for the 2025-26 school year who are knowledgeable in the Catholic liberal arts and who desire to create a loving and joyful learning experience for our students.

As teachers, mentors, and witnesses to our Holy Catholic Faith, applicants should be practicing Catholics committed to the traditions and traditional teaching of the Holy Catholic Church with a willingness to live a holy and exemplary Catholic life, both in school, outside of school, and on social media; desire to foster a love of learning for its own sake; and to demonstrate Christ’s sacrificial love for his/her students.

Pre-Primary (K), Primary (1-4), and Lower School Teachers (5-6) Should:

  • have a love of children
  • enjoy teaching
  • have a desire to share our Holy Catholic Faith with others
  • have strong skills in classroom management rooted in the modeling and practical application of virtue
  • be able to teach dialectically and mimetically (training will be available)
  • be able to create a joyful academic environment which encourages an enthusiasm and love of learning
  • be proficient in teaching the core subjects of the STACA curriculum and from the perspective of Holy Mother Church
  • have strong grammar and communication skills to communicate well with parents, teachers, and staff
  • have strong time-management skills

Strong applicants will also:

  • have previous experience in the classroom
  • have strong and professional communication and computer skills
  • be dependable and organized
  • have an approachable and respectful demeanor

As our model and method of teaching is unique, serious applicants must be willing to study and learn from other teachers and mentors trained in classical teaching methods.

Teachers are expected to become an integral part of our community life and to be actively supportive of the reception of the Sacraments, to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass during school hours, and participate in extra-curricular school events and activities.

(Compensation is commensurate with experience)
