Position Summary and Objectives

The Development Director’s primary responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing all tasks necessary to obtain resources for the present and future operation of Saint Theresa Catholic School.   This position serves as the primary source of communication – written, oral, and digital – with STCS’s external stakeholders. The Development Director is responsible for building productive relationships with donors, prospective donors, alumni, parents, parishioners, businesses, and foundations. This includes organizing all large and small-scale fundraising events, working with the school Advancement Committee, managing our annual fund, and building relationships with donors, staff, and volunteers.  The Development Director will also assist with implementing major giving and planned giving fundraising strategies.

·         Support, embrace, and instill the habit of excellence and virtue to foster the vision of Saint Theresa Catholic School as an educational institution that finds glory in the true, the beautiful, and the good

·         Demonstrate the skills, attitudes, and stable disposition of character to support the richness of our Catholic and Classical identity while fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in our students, our faculty and staff, and the greater community

 

Qualifications

The Development Director must be a person of unquestioned integrity and possess a heart for stewardship and a commitment to Catholic education. Ideal candidates will have experience working in business and/or customer service, and be flexible, patient, and good humored.

 

The qualified candidate must have:

·         A minimum of three years of experience working in business with an emphasis in development/advancement

·         An established background in coordinating nonprofit donation strategies and staff/volunteer leadership

·         The demonstrated ability to develop and maintain working relationships with faculty, students, families, and staff campus wide

·         Strong team management and leadership skills

·         The proven ability to work as a team with school administration and committee chairs within the school’s parent organization

·         Be proficient with social media platforms

 

Specific Accountabilities

 

·         Work with the Principal and Business Manager to develop and present the school’s Office of Advancement annual advancement plan

·         Attend all School Advisory Council Advancement Committee meetings

·         Attend School Advisory Council meetings as needed to provide progress and updates on the School’s advancement plan

·         Work with School Advisory Council to coordinating fundraising activities and events

·         Collaborate with the School’s Office of Advancement to maintain relationships with existing donors using the policies and procedures established in the Advancement Plan.

·         Collaborate with the STCS Advancement Committee to develop a digital fundraising strategy in alignment with the school’s Advancement Plan.

·         Maintain the school’s social network platforms in alignment with Archdiocesan and STCS policies and procedures.

·         Attend networking events as determined by the Business Manager and/or Principal.

·         Planning, coordinating, and running the school’s annual fundraising campaigns and activities such as the Fall Festival, the Gala, and the Griffin Day of Giving.

·         Using prospect research tools to identify and build donor relationships

·         Maintain the school’s donor database.

·         Working with the Business Manager to create marketing materials to support our fundraising initiatives.
