Saint Pius Catholic School is a K-8 parish school that has been providing excellence in Catholic education since 1953. The ideal candidate should:
- Know and love the teachings of the Catholic Church and desire to grow in faith and knowledge among a community of lifelong learners;
- Have experience as an educator, ideally in a Catholic school setting;
- Possess a growth mindset and willingness to collaborate with others;
- Have experience planning and implementing an elementary curriculum;
- Have experience managing a classroom for student success;
- Possess strong written and oral communication skills;
- Be able to work in partnership with the school administration and parents as the first educators of their children.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required
- A valid California Teaching credential (single or multi-subject) is preferred (or a reciprocal credential from another state) but not required
- Willingness to pledge fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement daily lessons in Religion, Math, Reading, Vocabulary/Spelling/Grammar, Science and Social Studies
- Provide academic guidance and direction to allow students to actively engage and think critically
- Provide timely and effective feedback for student learning and maintain current grades
- Communicate with school colleagues, parents, and students in a timely, professional manner
- Collaborate with other team members for excellent learning and growth of students
- Be present at designated school functions/activities outside of school days/hours and perform additional teacher duties as directed by the Principal
Salary Range: $55,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
