St. Joseph Catholic School is seeking a full-time 3rd/4th grade teacher to join our exceptional team for the 2024-2025 school year.

St. Joseph Catholic School is a community of joyful disciples for Christ.  Through a faith-centered education, we recognize and honor the uniqueness of each child and prepare all of our children to meet the spiritual, academic and social challenges of a changing world.

To Know* To Love *To Serve

St. Joseph is a growing, pre-k-8th grade Catholic School, founded in 1940, and a beloved fixture in the community.  Our small class sizes allow our teachers to individualize education and promote a partnership between parents and teachers, instilling Catholic values and creating a school family.  We seek a candidate who, with a heart on fire for the Lord, will bring positivity, enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to growing joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.

The key duties and responsibilities of the teacher will be:

To support the unique Catholic mission of the school

To live a life of word, action, and attitude that is consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church

To integrate the great truths of God’s love into the instructional day

To guide students toward a habit of prayer.

To prepare sound lesson plans focused on academic excellence and teach a variety of disciplines: Catechesis, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and History

Participate in reflective, ongoing professional development in partnership with school leadership.

Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills/knowledge as well as a thoughtful, age-appropriate behavior management plan.

To work collaboratively and joyfully with the administration of the parish and school, with fellow faculty and staff members, and with parents.

The desired candidate for the position in a school of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing is a practicing Catholic, actively involved in parish life.  The desired candidate is currently certified (or readily certifiable) as a Michigan teacher and can effectively serve as the instructional leader of a classroom.

Qualified candidates are asked to please submit the online application and attach a letter of interest, resume, and references.

Interviews will take place until the position is filled.
