I.     GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Admissions coordinates the enrollment management for the school.

Status: Grade 5, 12B Full-time; 12 months; Usual work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.  Occasional work on weekends
Reports to the Principal or Designee

II.    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Catholic Identity and Mission
    • Practicing Roman Catholic
    • Excellent communication skills, including ability to write and speak in a positive, consistent, and attractive way in both English and Spanish
    • Bilingual: Able to speak and write well in both English and Spanish
    • High level of organization and interpersonal skills
    • Promotes the school’s mission; able to articulate the significance of Catholic teachings on faith and morals to prospective families
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and loyalty to Catholic Church and the school
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with administration, staff, teachers, parents and volunteers
  • Admissions
    • Coordinates the admissions practices for the school
    • Maintains the database of all applicants
    • Manages the application process
    • Coordinates entrance testing for in-coming student applicants
      Interviews potential students and parents (in English and Spanish)
    • Coordinates the Admissions Committee to review applications and notify applicants of the decisions of the Committee in accord with the timeline for admissions notification
  • School  Community and Communications
    • Leads the student and parent ambassadors
    • Trains students to serve as tour guides and ambassadors for the school
    • Plans, schedules, and coordinates activities to engage grades school students in the school community, such as Shadow days and 8th grade events
    • Establishes communication between St John Paul II and local Catholic Elementary Schools and parishes
    • Communicates with the school community and parents of incoming students
      Finds ways to contribute to the building of the culture and community at St. John Paul II
      Communicates and maintains institutional identity within the school faculty and staff through professional development
    • Assists with press releases, photographs, and promotional information that will spread positive messages of the school, its students, programs, and community activities under the coordination of the Director of Advancement
  • Enrollment Strategies
    • Implements strategies to increase enrollment
    • Utilizes the school’s branding and marketing plan on all platforms
    • Demonstrates knowledge and support of the school’s marketing strategy for school admissions in collaboration with principal the Director of Advancement
    • Leads campus tours for parents and prospective students on a regular basis
    • Serves on the Enrollment and Marketing Committee of the School Advisory Board

III.    REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or Marketing with equivalent work experience
  • Must be Bilingual: English and Spanish
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to work independently, set schedules, prioritize tasks, supervise others and work in a team setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
