STATEMENT OF FAITH
Welcome to St. Charles Catholic School!
Please find in this statement of faith elements we hold dear to our Catholic faith and to be true, good, and beautiful. Catholic education is only effective in the context of common vision held between the school and family. Here at St. Charles, our vision incorporates three aspects: the classical liberal arts approach to forming the human and intellectual capacities of each child, the training in a life of sanctity and moral rectitude according to the tradition of the Catholic Church, and the salvation of souls. God Bless!
___
I/We understand and desire that my/our child/children be formed utilizing the classical method and trained in the spiritual and moral tradition of the Catholic Church. I/We recognize the importance of coherence between the teaching in school and at home, and we embrace the responsibility of living and supporting that education by word and example. At the core of these teachings is the acceptance of Our Lord Jesus Christ, God and Man, as our only Savior and Redeemer. He became man to offer his life as a ransom for our sins, and to destroy death by His resurrection. He became man to reveal God as our Father, and to teach us how to behave like God’s children. He taught us that only the Truth will set us free, that witnessing to the faith by our life is the only way to eternal life, and that the only life worth living is one with God.
I/We affirm and proclaim these particular teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. All people are created out of the love of God in his image and likeness. That marriage is an institution created by God and existing between a man and a woman. That life, dignity and the rights of the human person begin at conception, and that society is best served when its members love God and follow his Commandments. That God is the giver of life and that our identity is derived from Him as creatures existing as men and women according to our biological sex. That we become adopted sons and daughters through baptism. That God is the Judge which will require from us an account of the good we have done and the evil we have avoided according to His teachings. That the end and goal of our existence is measured by our readiness for eternity and the unending happiness of Heaven.
I/We are aware and accept that my/our child/children will be instructed in the teachings of the faith regarding God, the Catholic Church, the Sacraments and devotions. Inspired by the life of the Saints, children will learn that all strength and blessings come from God.
I/We understand the importance of these, and other teachings of the Catholic Church and desire my/our child/children to receive this education.
