Position Overview
We are seeking a joyful and faithful Core Subjects Teacher for our Grammar School (grades 1–4). This teacher will play a key role in forming the hearts and minds of our youngest students, guiding them through the foundational stages of learning with a love for truth, goodness, and beauty.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for early education, a love of children, and a desire to integrate faith, character formation, and academic rigor in a classroom infused with wonder and joy.

Primary Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction
Teach core academic subjects including reading, writing, grammar, math, religion, and history in alignment with a classical Catholic curriculum.

Implement time-tested methods that emphasize memorization, narration, copywork, dictation, and repetition, helping students build strong foundational skills.

Use quality classical literature and sacred Scripture to form students’ minds and imaginations.

Provide instruction in phonics, handwriting, and spelling in a structured, sequential manner.

Guide students in developing attentiveness, orderliness, and habits of virtue appropriate to their stage of development.

Classroom Culture
Create a loving, structured, and joy-filled classroom environment that reflects the dignity of the child and the beauty of learning.

Model and teach virtuous behavior, helping students grow in charity, patience, obedience, and reverence.

Integrate prayer and Catholic devotion into the daily life of the classroom.

Student Formation
Teach and witness to the truths of the Catholic faith in word and action.

Encourage wonder and delight in learning by fostering curiosity and attention to God’s creation.

Support each student’s spiritual, intellectual, and moral development in partnership with parents.

Assessment & Communication
Regularly assess student progress in a variety of formats—written, oral, and observational.

Maintain accurate grade records and provide timely feedback to students and parents.

Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding academic and behavioral progress.

Collaboration & Professional Growth
Collaborate with fellow Grammar School teachers to ensure curriculum continuity and support shared goals.

Attend faculty meetings, school Masses, liturgical celebrations, and school events.

Pursue ongoing professional formation in Catholic education and classical pedagogy.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Teaching experience, especially in a classical or Catholic school, is highly valued.

Knowledge of child development and early learning best practices.

Skills & Dispositions
A heart for young children and a genuine love of teaching.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Ability to create a peaceful and ordered learning environment that nurtures both academic excellence and moral development.

Willingness to be trained in classical methods and to grow as a Catholic educator.

Preferred
Familiarity with or openness to classical education and its principles.

Experience with phonics-based reading programs, traditional math instruction, and/or Catholic catechesis for young learners.

Comfort teaching across a range of subjects with integration and simplicity.

Physical Demands
