Teacher, Classical Integrated Classroom, Grades 1 & 2

Saints Peter and Paul School, located in the heart of the Village of Williamsville, and founded by St. John Neumann, is proud to be the first diocesan school in the region to fully embrace a Catholic Classical curriculum. As we enter the second year of this transformative renewal, we are seeking a joyful, faith-filled educator to lead our combined 1st and 2nd grade classroom.

This teacher will guide young learners through an integrated curriculum rooted in truth, beauty, and goodness. The ideal candidate is a disciple of Christ, deeply committed to the mission of Catholic education, and excited to form both the hearts and minds of students in the Classical tradition.

Key Responsibilities:
·       Teach a combined 1st and 2nd grade classroom, integrating core subjects such as reading, writing, arithmetic, religion, history, science, and nature studies within a Classical framework.

·       Foster a nurturing, orderly, and joyful classroom environment that encourages wonder, virtue, and academic excellence.

·       Employ Classical methods such as narration, memorization, copywork, dictation, and Socratic questioning.

·       Lead daily prayer, attend weekly Mass with students, and support their spiritual and moral formation in partnership with parents and parish life.

·       Collaborate closely with faculty and administration as part of a unified K–8 Classical program.

·       Maintain regular communication with parents and honor their role as primary educators.

Qualifications:
·       Practicing Catholic who joyfully witnesses to the faith and lives in accordance with Church teaching.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.

·       State Teacher Certification (or eligibility) preferred.

·       Familiarity with or openness to Classical education, including its philosophical and pedagogical foundations.

·       Experience or strong interest in teaching in a multi-grade classroom setting.

·       A genuine love for children and a deep desire to form their intellectual and spiritual character.

Salary and Benefits:
Starting salary from $30,000, commensurate with degree and experience.
