OVERVIEW
St. Theresa’s in Trumbull, Connecticut is a Catholic, classical elementary school. The school is hiring a full time teacher for the lower school
beginning in the 2025-26 school year. Candidates must have a love for working with elementary-aged children. The ideal candidate will also be passionate about traditional, classical elementary education. We are looking for educators who want to work in a faithful, supportive, caring, and positive
school environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES (The below description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or

• Demonstrates effective planning skills by preparing lessons designed to implement stated goals and objectives
• Promotes a positive classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning
• Demonstrates competence in teaching by having current knowledge of curriculum and elementary subject matter
• Effectively manage children using research-based strategies and approaches that foster growth
• Connect and communicate effectively with children
• Organize a classroom learning environment and materials
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, professional development, reading professional educational
publications, etc.
• Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
• Active member of a Catholic faith community and is open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude
and example.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Education or a related discipline
• Valid State Teaching Certification in appropriate grade level and/or subject or in the process of attaining a Teaching Certificate
