Founded in 1963 by the Sisters of the Holy Faith, Saint Hilary School is a unique blend of traditional and progressive practices. Grades 3-5 Teacher Responsibilities

●  Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
●  Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students requiring additional support or enrichment.
●  Create a structured and welcoming classroom environment that encourages student responsibility and independence.
●  Foster a warm, nurturing, and structured classroom environment that aligns with our Catholic values while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
●  Use a variety of instructional strategies, including project-based learning, inquiry-driven lessons, and technology integration.
●  Guide students in developing strong reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning skills.
●  Foster a growth mindset, encouraging perseverance and resilience in learning.
●  Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents through regular updates and conferences.
●  Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular learning opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
●  Plan and facilitate hands-on, interactive learning experiences, including outdoor and faith-based activities.
●  Observe and assess students’ academic progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
●  Participate in ongoing professional development to continue growing as an educator.
●  Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

● Required

○  A valid California State Teaching Credential (or in progress).
○  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a

related field.
○  Practicing Catholic (required for teaching religion).
○  A passion for early childhood education and creating a joyful, inclusive learning

environment.
○  Experience with differentiated instruction, play-based learning, and

social-emotional development.
○  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working in

partnership with parents and colleagues. ● Preferred
○ At least two years of teaching experience in early elementary grades (preferred).
