Knights of Our Lady Classical Scholars Program seeks a founding Headmaster for our inaugural year.   We will begin in Fall of 2024 as a part-time classical educational program in the Catholic tradition, planning to transition to a full-time program in Fall of 2025.  We will offer grades 9 and 10 the first year, adding grade 11 and grade 12 in the two subsequent years, sequentially.  We have partnered with the Chesterton Schools Network and are on a path to joining the network for the Fall of 2025.

Our mission is to raise up a new generation of leaders and saints educated in the classical tradition and truths of the Catholic faith.  We work to provide a place that is academically rigorous and morally serious – but also a place of joy and community.

We are searching for a vibrant leader who will have a substantial and immediate impact on the development of our school.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for classical education and possess the leadership skills necessary to instill a culture of virtue, service, zeal for learning, and passion for the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith.

We are located near Kalamazoo, Michigan approximately half-way between Chicago and Detroit.  The area boasts a very reasonable cost of living, and is home to the St. John Henry Newman Institute, supporting Catholic classical education and reverent liturgy.  There are multiple large employers here, including Stryker Corp., Kellogg, Pfizer, Bronson Healthcare Group, Borgess Medical Group, Fabri-Kal, and Mann & Hummel, to name a few.  Recreational opportunities abound, being approximately 45 minutes from Lake Michigan, as well as having a wealth of golf courses, hiking and biking trails, minor league sports teams, and so much more. We are home to Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Homer Stryker, MD School of Medicine, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education.  Must be willing to take an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. (Required).
• Bachelor’s Degree -Required, Master’s Degree- Preferred
• 4 + years of experience in secondary school teaching or administration- Preferred
• 2+ years teaching experience in a classical school environment -Preferred
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

This is a full-time position, though our curriculum is presented in a three day per week, part-time format for the first year.  Please see the attached job description for further detail regarding qualifications and responsibilities.  Part-time employment will be considered for a candidate with special circumstances, such as current enrollment in a higher education program, or having a particular personal circumstance requiring scheduling modifications.
