Queen of Peace Catholic School (QPCS), Cloquet MN

Principal Position

QPCS is a pre-K through 8th grade Catholic Classical School. Currently, we have 130 students and are growing at 10% per year.

We are moving in the right direction with teachers and parents supportive of the Classical pedagogy and curriculum, and full commitment to the Catholic Faith. We only need the right person to lead us further in that direction.

Sacred music is the fine art that we offer. Our students then serve our parish in such a beautiful way by bringing that sacred music to our Sunday Mass.

Our students attend Mass every day, and I teach 7/8th grade catechism.

Our middle school girls serve as sacristans and our boys serve at the altar. They have found this to be a wonderful way in order to lead and serve the parish community.

We have made having religious sisters teaching at our school a priority. For four years now, as a parish, we have prayed and fasted from meat on Fridays for the specific intention that the Lord send sisters to serve our parish and school again. Last year we raised $1 million to build a convent for future sisters.

We are celebrating our 100th anniversary of the dedication of our church next year. We have a magnanimous campaign to restore our church, making it even more beautiful, and to elevate the quality and sustainability of our school. You can see our presentation on our website, qopparish.com.

We have a Catholic high school education program on campus, Mater Dei Apostolate. The students are technically homeschooled, but all their classes are in person. This allows us to have adjunct instructors who teach one or two classes, which allows us to keep expenses to a minimum. For example, my dad is a former surgeon, he teaches biology. We see Mater Dei as the continuation of our educational program. 90% of our 8th grade graduates go on to Mater Dei. It is currently a separate entity from the parish and school, but there is a possibility that it could become part of QPCS and that one person could lead all grades, pre-K through 12th. There are currently nineteen students at Materdeiapostolate.org.

QPCS is the main mission of our parish community. Our goal is to build a Catholic Culture and Community where we share all of our life together. Christian life can only be done if it’s intentionally lived in community with others.  We want to help families thrive in their Christian vocation. That is what we are doing at Queen of Peace. We want holy vocations, priests, religious sisters, and marriages to be born from our parish. We want to form saints.

In addition to the normal principal duties, we are looking for someone to be the spiritual leader of the school. To be the face and promoter of the school to parish families. We are looking for someone to continue to form teachers in the Catholic faith and in the classical pedagogy and curriculum. One thing the principal doesn’t have to worry much about is funding. I take that burden on mostly myself. I am all in on this school thriving!

I am a pastor who is very involved and supportive of the school. You will not be going it alone.
