St. James of the Valley in Wyoming, Ohio, has had an empty school building for about a decade. For a number of reasons, it is an ideal location and situation for starting a liberal arts school. We are intending to start what would be the first Catholic such parochial grade school (K-8) in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. We intend to be Catholic through and through, with a strong prayer life and availability of sacraments, and with a deep rootedness in the Church’s history and artistic tradition.
We are currently looking into the possibility of hiring an administrator who would spend the 2025/2026 school year working in tandem with the priests of the parishes to develop the structure, curriculum, schedule, and all other details of the school with a 2026/2027 opening in mind (opening K-3 and adding a grade each year). He or she would also help determine how the building would be adequately renovated/furnished for the coming school year, and ultimately continue to serve in an administrative capacity when the school gets started in earnest.
By nature, there are still many open ends here. We are looking for a person who would be excited and qualified to take charge in this venture! Experience in liberal arts school administration and in school startup would be preferred, but we are open to considering how your unique education and experience may be what we need.
