Queen of Apostles Family of Parishes Cincinnati, Ohio
St. James of the Valley in Wyoming, Ohio, has had an empty school building for about a decade. For a number of reasons, it is an ideal location and situation for starting a classical school. We are intending to start what would be the first Catholic classical grade school (K-8) in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. We intend to be Catholic through and through, with a strong prayer life and availability of sacraments, and with a deep rootedness in the Church’s history and artistic tradition. The building would support one classroom per grade level, and we would not look to expand.
We are currently looking for an administrator who would spend the 2024/2025 school year working in tandem with the priests of the parishes to develop the structure, curriculum, schedule, and all other details of the school with a 2025/2026 opening in mind (opening K-5 or K-6 and adding a grade each year). He or she would also help determine how the building will be adequately renovated/furnished for the coming school year, and ultimately continue to serve in an administrative capacity when the school gets started in earnest.
By nature, there are still many open ends here. We are looking for a person who would be excited and qualified to take charge in this venture! Experience in classical school administration would be preferred, but we are open to considering how your unique education and experience may be what we need.
As a disclaimer, a number of puzzle pieces need to come together over the next month or two before we could definitively hire. That said, we do not anticipate prohibitive difficulties, and have great confidence in moving forward!
